It’s been a busy spring in the Richland School District

June 10, 2014 By Betsy Roesler

Americorps Farm to School Nutrition Educator Julie Whitney has had a whirl wind of a spring!  With the help of many community volunteers, teachers and students she has coordinated the effort to break ground on school gardens for all 5 buildings within The Richland School District!

Garden produce will make it’s debut in the Summer Food Service Program held at Jefferson Elementary School in Richland Center starting June 16.  The produce will then be incorporated into the school salad bar and menu items for the 2014-2015 year. Check out pictures below of the gardens!

To volunteer for summer upkeep of the gardens contact Julie Whitney; whitj@richland.k12.wi.us
