Americorps Farm to School Nutrition Educator Julie Whitney has had a whirl wind of a spring! With the help of many community volunteers, teachers and students she has coordinated the effort to break ground on school gardens for all 5 buildings within The Richland School District! These gardens are part of the Richland County Farm to School program which aims to teach students where their food comes from and educate them on the importance of eating a healthy diet. For more information on the AmeriCorps Farm to School program check out the facebook page .
The following pages will highlight the awesome work that has been done at each of the schools! A big thank you to the High School students who helped build all of the raised beds.
