Starting Thursday August 8th the Pine River Food Coop will begin selling Farmers Market Tokens for customers using Food Share. Tokens can then be used to purchase produce at the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.

How It Works:

1. The Pine River Food Coop has a card reader that allows you to swipe your FoodShare Card.
2. You request the amount of funds you want and the worker will give you that amount in $1 Farmer’s Market Tokens.
3. The tokens can be used at vendors who have a Blue EBT sign posted at their booth.
4. You cannot use tokens at the Pine River Food Coop.
5. The store will not refund tokens

There are 3 spots available in a local cooking class with Suvir Saran.

The class is being held on Sunday, June 30 from 1-4 pm at the Richland Center High School.

Cost is $100 which includes one of Suvir’s cook books!

NEW this year to the Richland Area Farmers Market is an educational booth run by the Pine River Food Co-op. Each Saturday during the Farmers Market there will be demo’s on different topics including: knife safety when preparing vegetables, how to make Sushi, ways to add salad and veggies to your diet and many many more! This partnership is part of the Richland FIT coalitions plan to provide nutrition education throughout the community.
